I’d also like to add one other point… this idea that conservative = bad isn’t a progressive principle. Being a conservative, holding conservative viewpoints, even exercising your rights on behalf of conservative causes doesn’t make you a bad person.

I fight hard daily against many of those conservative principles because of my deep levels of disagreement. But I try not to fight against the person holding those beliefs.

Fox News and Breitbart use “liberal” as a punching bag tool. Liberals need to rise above those playground tactics rather than trying to turn “conservative” into a similar slur. We are terrible at it. They are masters and we just look silly trying to beat them at a Gabe they perfected 30 years ago.
